At Citizens of Soil we’re creating the UK’s favourite brand of olive oil; a show-stopping brand for modern citizens who care about quality, transparency, and sustainability.

We're looking for an artistic content producer who can create, curate, and manage engaging multimedia content in alignment with our brand voice and objectives, elevating storytelling, brand personality, and maintaining high levels of community engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business through a significant period of growth and share the journey through social media.

How to apply:

Please send us an email at apply@citizensofsoil.com with your CV along with some reels you’d like to share that show us how you could work with our brand.

What we’re looking for:

An artistic content producer who can create, curate, and manage engaging multimedia content (text, images, videos, stories) in alignment with our brand voice and objectives.

You’ll plan and schedule social media posts, elevating storytelling, brand personality, and community interaction to maintain high engagement.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has strong visual branding and storytelling instincts.
  • Understands lifestyle niches (trends in health, beauty, fashion, home, travel).
Is skilled at creating shareable, “saves-worthy” content, as well as conversational posts (not just likes).
  • Experienced with influencer relations and collabs.
  • Get the algorithm and its changes, and is savvy with engagement metrics.
  • Has the ability to embody our lifestyle brand’s tone and aspirations authentically.
  • Is confident in filming yourself, speaking on camera, and directing talent.
  • Is an efficient video editor. Bonus if you know how to film with a good camera beyond just the phone.
  • Is organised and can prioritise multiple shoots and edits moving at once.
  • Has strong accountability and a solid work ethic.
  • Has a positive attitude and a tenacious character; things in our business can change quickly, so being comfortable reacting fast to unexpected opportunities and challenges will make this job exciting for you.
  • Proactive, independent and autonomous, whilst also friendly and collaborative in a small team.
  • Aligned with the mission and ethics of Citizens of Soil, specifically wanting to progress a mission around turning a commodity into a community to benefit people and planet.
  • Enjoys working in small, entrepreneurial, start-up environments.
  • Loves food & drink (it’s nice to take pleasure in what you do!)
  • Willingness to travel for shoots, events, and retailer activations.
  • Has a current right to work and live in the UK.

Your duties will include:

  • Content strategy: Develop social content and calendar aligned with key brand pillars and commercial needs.
  • Trend integration: Jump quickly on social media trends that are authentic to our brand, adapting them to our aesthetic.
  • Community engagement: Build intimacy with our Citizens. Respond to comments / DMs in brand voice, nurture loyal followers, and seed UGC (user-generated content).
  • Aesthetic consistency: Maintain a cohesive Citizens of Soil aspirational and authentic look across all channels and formats.
  • Advertising: Work with our marketing team to create video adverts that address every part of the funnel—engaging around key olive oil content, and scroll-stopping stories.
  • Content library: Manage an organised asset storage for easy retrieval and repurposing.
  • Partnerships: Coordinate with influencers and creators to boost reach authentically, working with the wider marketing team to identify the right partners.
  • Analytical optimisation: Track saves, shares, story replies, and DM conversations—not just likes. Test and learn.
  • Platform diversification: While IG is core, expand into TikTok and YouTube Shorts without diluting brand identity.
  • People & planet: Be a champion of our sustainability ethos and look at every decision from an impact lens.

In return, you’ll get:

  • 28 days holiday, in addition to bank holidays (FT).
  • An opportunity to grow within a scaling business.
  • Flexibility to support your work-life balance.
  • The sense of purpose that comes from working for something bigger than the business itself.
  • The finest extra virgin olive oils we can source (we’ll keep you stocked up with the good stuff)!

Diversity & inclusion:

At Citizens of Soil, our vision is for a more fair, sustainable, and flavourful table. And that starts with our team. We’re cultivating a culture of inclusion because we know we need a diverse team to learn and grow. We embrace your unique contributions and will work to ensure you feel a sense of belonging.

We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

About Citizens of Soil:

We’re creating the UK’s favourite brand of olive oil; a show-stopping brand for modern citizens who care about quality, transparency, and sustainability.

We work with female-led groves who practise regenerative agriculture. Our oils represent the people and places they come from, with a line-up of inspiring producers across the Mediterranean under our brand, Citizens of Soil.

Our transparent supply chain means we can trace where every drop comes from and that fair pay is established from the beginning. We’re also a B Corporation using business as a force for good.

We’ve already successfully launched our products in Waitrose, Ocado, Booths, Selfridges, Fortnum & Masons, and with Michelin-starred chefs, with more new exciting new listings to come.

We've been called “the Rolex in a sea of Casio olive oils” by the Metro, with Vice saying “consider it a treat for your taste buds” and HuffPost saying our oils “get the chef’s kiss.” We’ve also been featured in “best oils” lists with The Times, Evening Standard, and Good Housekeeping.

As a team, we are ambitious, hard-working, fast movers, and we have exceptionally high standards of both our brand experience and business practices. We are powered by conviction, data, and creative thinking, and we are relentless in our pursuit of a better future for olive oil and the people and places behind it.
