As a team, we are ambitious, hard-working, fast movers, and we have exceptionally high standards of both our brand experience and business practices. We are powered by conviction, data, and creative thinking, and we are relentless in our pursuit of a better future for olive oil and the people and places behind it.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for an organised, detail-oriented Operations & Supply Chain Assistant to support our Head of Operations. This is a hands-on, admin-focused role—perfect for someone who loves keeping things in order, communicates clearly, and wants to grow within a purpose-driven food business.

With our growing ops team, you’ll help keep things running smoothly—from warehouse coordination to admin that keeps the engine ticking.

The ideal candidate:

  • Exceptionally organised with sharp attention to detail.
  • A clear communicator, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable in spreadsheets and picking up new tools quickly.
  • A self-starter who flags problems early and will take opportunities to improve processes when they can.

  • Some experience in ops, logistics, or supply chain is a bonus, but a great attitude and strong admin skills matter more.

  • Has strong accountability and a solid work ethic.

  • Has a positive attitude and a tenacious character; things in our business can change quickly, so being comfortable reacting fast to unexpected opportunities and challenges will make this job exciting for you.

  • Aligned with the mission and ethics of Citizens of Soil, specifically wanting to progress a mission around turning a commodity into a community to benefit people and planet.

  • Enjoys working in small, entrepreneurial, start-up environments.

  • Loves food & drink (it’s nice to take pleasure in what you do!)

  • Has a current right to work and live in the UK.

  • Can regularly commute into the central London office (Farringdon).

Top-level responsibilities:

Order & Warehouse Admin: Help manage day-to-day order processing, liaise with our 3PL warehouse, and flag any fulfilment issues.

  • Raising and tracking purchase orders and orders.
  • Monitoring stock levels and flagging low inventory.
  • Keeping order records accurate and up to date.

Supplier & Freight Coordination: Support the team in keeping our supply chain on track.

  • Helping coordinate shipments and customs documentation.

  • Chasing suppliers and freight partners for updates.

  • Filing and organising supplier records and certificates.

Data Entry & Reporting: Keep our systems accurate so the team can make good decisions.

  • Updating spreadsheets and internal tools with order, stock, and shipment data.

  • Helping prepare weekly ops reports and KPI summaries.

  • Supporting compliance admin—food safety certs, organic documentation, etc.

In return, you’ll get:

  • 28 days holiday, in addition to bank holidays (FT).
  • Equity in a scaling business.
  • Private health insurance through Vitality.
  • Budget for your professional development.

  • Flexibility to support your work-life balance.

  • The sense of purpose that comes from working for something bigger than the business itself.

  • The finest extra virgin olive oils we can source (we’ll keep you stocked up with the good stuff)!

Diversity & inclusion:

At Citizens of Soil, our vision is for a more fair, sustainable, and flavourful table. And that starts with our team. We’re cultivating a culture of inclusion because we know we need a diverse team to learn and grow. We embrace your unique contributions and will work to ensure you feel a sense of belonging.

We're an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran status, neurodiversity status or disability status.
