Small-batch. High in antioxidants. Sourced directly from producers farming in harmony with nature.
This Club is about curating a range of extra virgin olive oils from producers who prioritise flavour, nutrition, and sustainability. Sourced personally by our founder and passionate olive oil sommelier, Sarah, you'll get to try new oils every 1-2 months to match the seasons:
The Ceramic Pourer is inspired by the Mediterranean and made in small batches over 5 days by the Salgueiro family in Porto. It has been moulded to our wine bottle shape, includes texture for grip, is easy to clean and is neutral in colour. It is paired with the perfect pourer which allows for ideal flow of olive oil.
We curate new, exciting EVOOs from small-batch producers that change every month, meaning you'll get to try as many as 12 per year.
Although you might come across the same producer, you'll receive a different oil every month, getting to try several different regions, styles, and varieties throughout the year.
No, the Olive Oil Club is only pouches that arrive through your letterbox. However, you save £20 on one of our ceramics when you join the Club, the perfect pourer for these olive oil pouches.
Our pouches are BPA and phthalate-free, made from the following material: PET12/ 7ALU/ 15NY/ PE120.
Due to the nature of extra virgin olive oil, these multi-layer plastic pouches are the best solution available. We've spoken to olive oil and sustainability experts alike—and this is the best format to keep the oil in its top-quality condition while keeping the carbon impact and packaging waste low.
Currently it cannot be stored in compostable or plant-based options on the market at this time.
We are actively looking for an even better alternative. If you know of any food-grade, hardy materials for fresh oils—drop us a line.
Currently, we can't offer a choice of oil in the Olive Oil Club due to the nature of supporting small-batch producers and planning all the oil with them at their annual harvest. However, if you do not like a particular style, do let us know and we’ll certainly try to accommodate within what’s available. Feedback is also welcome as it helps us source better next time!
Our producers all farm organically to the EU standard without any synthetics or chemical "cides". However, as we only work with small farms, some have not yet been certified—which is why we cannot legally label it as “organic”, unless it has the certification. Many of them, though, are well on their way in the conversion and audit process (it takes a few years), so we hope to share more soon.
Currently, our Greek oil from Sparta, Spanish oil from Andalucía, and Italian oils from Tuscany and Sicily carry the organic certification on their label.
Welcome you to the fascinating, yet very confusing world of extra virgin olive oil. We wrote an article all about the term "cold-pressed" if you'd like to read up in detail, but in short, it is just a marketing buzzword, as by legal definition in the EU, extra virgin olive oil is extracted without any heat or chemicals and only comes from the “first pressing” (more like squeezing) of the olives—which is exactly the definition of our products.
Customer Reviews
We’ve enjoyed all the oils so far. This months oil offering is absolutely lovely, with strong notes of tomatoes. We stayed in Seville some years ago and in our hotel restaurant were given an olive oil to try that was memorable for its strong tomato taste but we only remembered its taste, not where it came from or what it was called. Tasting this months oil took us back to that trip, we’ll savour every drop.
Really happy I joined and absolutely love the flavour of every different pack sent through. Only thing is we cook fresh food almost every day plus I'm making homemade granola every 2 week so we get through a lot of extra virgin olive oil. I probably need around 1.5 litres a month which would be quite expensive if I bought all the oil I need from Citizens of Soil. I compromise by only cooking with olive oil club oil and using a cheaper good quality extra virgin olive oil for making granola. I would definitely recommend joining the olive oil club. Superb quality extra virgin olive oil.
Very impressed
I received this as a gift but continued subbscribing as loved the different oils.
I get new oil every 2 months & it's always exciting to see which country it will be from.
I also sometimes give one to my family as these pouches so useful for a camper van as so light.
Love it
